Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi everyone

I am trying to find a good lpn to rn online school. Do anyone know of any greatly appreciated

Specializes in Med/Surg, LTACH, LTC, Home Health.

Excelsior College if your state accepts them.....

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Excelsior College and Indiana State University are the two most commonly-mentioned distance-based RN bridge programs.

Excelsior offers an LPN-to-ASN program and Indiana State offers an LPN-to-BSN program. Make sure your state board of nursing accepts whichever program you choose, because many states have severe restrictions on distance-based schools.

Grizzlegirl,

I have a friend going to Unitek College in California. Its on the expensive side but she loves the courses and the attention she is getting. She is taking microbiology online and thinks it is wonderful.

She hates the fact that California is filled with waiting lists because of budget cuts. This is a private school and accredited so there is no wait.

Thanks guys for your response it makes a great difference in my decision

I would like to know if anyone had ever use achieve prep in preparing to take nursing exam. Just need to know how good are they if it's worth studying with them.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

People I know who have used Achieve Test Prep regret spending the extra money. If you don't want to do exams to test out, Excelsior is now offering their Associates-level exams as nursing courses. Granted, the course costs more than the exam, but the difference is probably what you'd pay to Achieve in the long run, and the Excelsior courses are taught by those who actually give you the grade.

Please check out the Excelsior forum if you're interested in that program: Excelsior College Online Nursing Degrees

Also, there is a bunch of info here, including links to information about which states won't accept EC grads: https://allnurses.com/excelsior-college-online/excelsior-college-distance-808335.html

Good luck!
