Hello!
Have any of ya'll heard of Jacksonville University located in Florida. They have an online RN-BSN program that I'm interested in. The thing is what types of things should I look for when determining if these online degree programs are legitimate? I have already applied to a school in state that offers a online program and I know they are NLN accredited but I wanted another "backup" school just in case.
Thanks!:)

Check our the online distance forum. I go to JU. I think it is as accredited as any and I am satisfied. I do think I am taking a few extra course though.

You can check with your particular University, but usually, there is no indication on the diploma or transcripts that the courses were online. That is because they are the same courses (for the most part) that are taught in the more traditional classroom setting. Distance education is becoming more and more common and accepted and in the end - very few people are ever going to care where your BSN came from. All that matters is that you get it. As long as the program is accredited, of course.
I attended JU at one point, but my experience with them was not a good one - they were very dishonest in their dealings with me and, after that, I would not attend their school if it were the only one in existance, but others have not had problems with them. My problem with them was several years ago, maybe they have straightened things out by now. There are several other online RN-BSN programs out there (and some of them are considerably less expensive). I second the recommendation of the other poster to check out the distance education forum https://allnurses.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=125
