Online prerequisites

I am a non-nursing professional currently applying to second-degree accelerated BSN programs (for those with non-nursing bachelor's degrees). I need to work full-time until I begin a program, hopefully in January 2015, and therefore need to take prerequisite courses online. After graduating the BSN program and working as an RN, my long term goal is to be a nurse anesthetist. I understand the programs are difficult and that my desires may change. This question is really about me being as well-positioned as possible.

My father brought up a concern and now I'm a little paranoid. Could taking the BSN prerequisites online (through a community college, SUNY to be exact) potentially hinder my entrance into a nurse anesthetist or other MSN program several years down the road? Specifically, the prerequisites are anatomy & physiology I & II, microbiology, psychology, and nutrition. Some of those include labs that are also conducted online.

I've checked with several of the BSN programs I'm applying to, and they're fine with the online/CC prerequisites. I just want to know if anyone has experience with Nurse Anesthetist programs not accepting online prerequisites from several years before.

The short answer is NO, online classes are ok.

My understanding from a transcript perspective is: how do they know? I do not believe any of my online classes state that they were online.

As long as it is regionally accredited university it shouldn't matter.

The short answer is NO, online classes are ok.

What makes you say this? Where have you seen a school that requires that prerequisites be taken at brick and mortar only schools?

I have researched several ABSN programs and advanced degree programs and have never, ever seen a school say that they require classes be taken at brick and mortar institutions. Nursing schools require that prerequisites be taken at an ACCREDITED school. In fact, I have taken several prerequisites online and been accepted into a very competitive ABSN program. Furthermore, nowhere on my transcripts does it state the mode of course delivery.

I believe this person said online classes are ok.

sorry, I had to edit because I did not capture the quote the first time
