Online direct-entry NP programs?

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if you guys knew of any direct-entry NP programs that offer partially-online curricula (e.g., online didactic courses combined with "real-life" clinical courses). The only direct-entry program I'm familiar with that seems to fit this profile is Vanderbilt's, and for their ACNP specialty tracks, students are actually required to physically attend on-campus classes for the duration of the program. I do believe, however, that they permit their FNP students to complete the second half of the program online from any location. Their direct-entry programs are also really expensive!

Does anyone know of any other direct-entry NP programs that permit students to complete a portion of the didactic curriculum via the internet (I.e., from any location)?

Thanks in advance...

Usually no, all of them require at least being within a certain range of the school. Northeastern in Boston has a Hybrid that might be what you're looking for but you'd still need to be in New England. But I'd recommend being in a classroom and going about it in the traditional manner anyways. And all of them are expensive except for the two or three that are through public universities. The rest are private and therefore expensive. Sorry I'm not too helpful!

No problem, your comment was quite helpful! So would you recommend against Vanderbilt's program? I'm just trying to figure out if I should do an ADN program and then an NP program later on, or directly pursue becoming an NP via a program like Vanderbilt's. I know their program is expensive, but at the same time, I guess I would have to factor in the fact that I'd be earning an NP's salary at least several years sooner than I will if I follow the "traditional" route to becoming an NP.

Oh Vandy is great, I think there's is well enough balanced between distance and on campus. I visited there and like it, which I would recommend. They are very competitive though as with every Direct entry program. And if you're gonna take the plunge then just do it. There are about a 1,000 students spending the same amount each year. If NP is your goal and you are certain of that, then definitely go direct entry as your first option but investigate other options that will get you there as well at the same time.
