Online class - AHA - BLS

Can your share your thoughts as to what are some places one can get the aforementioned certification online - fully? Also, how much did it cost you?

Can one use an older online theory certification all the time before doing the 2nd portion of the course?

You can't. At least if you are referring to an American Heart Association (AHA) basic life support (BLS) course.  The AHA does offer HeartCode BLS, a blended course in which you complete the didactic portion online and, after completion schedule a hands-on session with and AHA Training Center.

No, at least with AHA Heartcode BLS.  You need to complete both portions to receive a course completion card.

Yep, just echoing Chare. You cannot complete the AHA BLS 100% online. You still have to do an in-person skills checkoff.
