one semester bridge program?

Has anyone ever heard of a program where a LPN can transition to RN in only one semester? Someone was telling me she was looking at such a program, but I have never heard of a transition program that short?

TIA

I live in NC, and I just completed a LPN-RN bridge class, it was like 10 wks long, then in Fall 08, We step into the last two semesters with other ADN students and we graduate in May 09.

Which school in NC do you attend?:)

Western Career College in Sacramento is 8 months. Although, you pay an arm, a leg, and need to get rid of your family (sell the kids, divorce your husband). lol

Hi! I am relocating to Charlotte, NC. Can you suggest any accelerated LPN to RN programs there. Thank you in advance.

I go to Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC. We did the LPN-RN transition in the summer starting in May/July, then stepped into the last two semesters for Fall/Spring. I graduation in May. 16 weeks left as of January 12th and I am a RN.

If anyone would like to check this college out, go ahead. You can go to the North Carolina Board of Nursing Website (www.ncbon.org) and see that Guilford Technical Community College is one of the few in NC that has the highest passing rates for the RN or LPN programs. College website is http://www.gtcc.edu.
