On the other of caregiving

Published

I've been a nurse for 32 years. Today, I was the one that needed to be taken care of.

As you can realize, that role reversal is a beeyotch.

Presented to an ER in a well respected facility. Went downhill from there.

Not one person (except the doc) identified themselves by name or role.

Admission nurse (half my age )called me honey, sweetie and dear.

IV abx hung.... wide open, ran dry... nobody responded.( slowed it down, flushed it myself.)

My main complaint? Asked 3 staff members for water.. not one could bother.

ER nurses , feel free to respond. I know busy when I see it.

HCAPHS, here I come.

I hope you are feeling better. It's a shame that you had a terrible experience. Make sure to fill out that blasted Press Ganey :)
