It depends on where you are being trained. Some places it is 16, but I think more people are now moving up to 18.

CNA's can work in: hospitals, outpatient facilities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, they can also do home health. They can also be used in doctor's offices(according to my book) but most of the doctors offices I've seen use medical assistants.

Oh ok....my dad aint gonna let me take the CNA course for some odd reason so im just going to take my EMT-B class a couple weeks after my 17th birthday

For Redcross of america in california the min. age is 16.

Wonder what your Dad's reasoning is. I took my first CNA course at 16, I was 17 when the nursing home hired me for my first CNA job after I graduated. Age probably differs from state to state. What is more important, is the age required to be hired once you have a certificate. Good luck with your EMT course.

Yeah, i would agree with what mos people are saying, because here in MN i know you have to be atleast 16yrs old or older.

I'm in MS and I know some high schools offer the CNA program if you are also in Allied Health. The general age here is 16.

My dads reason is he dont want me to basicly have a ****** job. he wants the best for me which i can see that,Becuase he is helping me get ready for my EMT-B class and he is helping get ready to join the military and pursue my medical knowledge into the military so when i get out i have a better chance and high qualifying scores to get a job as a MA,A Doc,so on.. He thinks that all CNA's do is whipe "ASS" excuse my language. so ya he wont let me take CNA

Ya my school in Council Bluffs Iowa offers it and like 10 kids there already have there CNA,but there also paying for me to take my EMT-B so no money comes out of my pocket for it.
