Any recent Ohio grads of Excelsior? I am waiting on my CPNE date and I am hearing that a friend of a friend in Ohio wasn't approved to sit for boards by the OBN b/c Excelsior isn't approved by OBN? Is this true? I have emailed both the OBN and Excelsior and I am waiting on a response from the board but Excelsior says it's a non-issue and misinformation. Just curious to hear from other recent grads

Of course, check with your board for accurate information. But I will tell you this. If excelsior says it's a non-issue, you can believe them.
When I tried to apply, because of the issue with Georgia, EC had me signing so many documents and acknowledgement forms, that I actually was beginning to think they did not want me as a student. This made me really nervous.
So what I said to myself was, "You don't want me here; I'm coming in anyway. But I promise you, I won't stay long".
***The after-story with the BON here was indeed an issue, but not because of EC. The BON didn't want to accept that I did have more than the required clinical hours (as I was an acute care nurse with 20+ years under my belt back then). I think that maybe they were so engulfed in the Georgia-versus-Excelsior College battle, that they couldn't see past the word 'Excelsior', when I showed up, long enough to realize that there was really no battle here with me. But we fought anyway; I stood my ground, and came out a winner.***

Yes. It is misinformation. I graduated from EC on May 21, took NCLEX on June 7, and received my Ohio license on June 9. There is no problem in Ohio with Excelsior.
