OCCC Spring 2015

Hello,

Is anyone applying for the nursing program at OCCC in the spring? I turned my application in this past Monday, 8/11. I talked to the nursing counselor, so I might be able to answer some of your questions. She only sees 5 or 6 people a day. It's going to get worse as the deadline for the spring gets closer, which is some time around labor day. Couple of key facts that I can share:

  • Point cut off last semester (Fall 2014) for alternates was 16. She said if you have 17 or 18 you have a good competitive chance at getting in.
  • This is the last time that Pharmacology, Medical Terminology, and Nursing Overview will be used for preference points.
  • She told me that I could earn a CNA by attending a 2 week course. I don't have the information in front of me but I can look for it if anyone needs it.

Hope that helps! :)

I'm not sure but the compass score might help with preference points. The TEAS test might be required but I'm not sure. I think they changed some stuff since I applied, I'm currently in the badnap program.
