Feb 3, 20179 yr hello,I am. well, I already have. It's only been 4 days since I turned in my application. Now I'm just waiting on the next step.
Feb 11, 20179 yr Author Could you keep me updated? I turned in my application but found out I have to take the TEAS test so everything is on hold for me.
Feb 11, 20179 yr Why are they making you take the TEAS test? I dont understand. You are eligible to apply using 4 different options. If you haven't taken the TEAS, but have at least 13 credit hrs of the core nursing pre-reqs with a 2.75 then you can apply that way, ACT or SAT score, or by already having a degree with at least a 2.75Did they even accept your application?
Feb 18, 20179 yr Author I'm trying to transfer in from another program and my gpa was a little under the minimum. They told me if I make at least a 65 on the teas my application would be considered.
Feb 18, 20179 yr Oh okay. I had my interview on Wednesday by two ADN coordinators and was accepted right away through a verbal acceptance. My acceptance letter with orientation information is suppose to be sent out within the next couple of weeks. My GPA was at a 3.69, so I believe that's what got me in and also once I finish this semester at Midlands Tech, I will have all the required pre-requisites completed. I'm sorry you didn't meet the requirements, however you can aim for the 65 on the TEAS.Good Luck.
Feb 21, 20179 yr Author Did you have to go to the school for your interview, or did they do it over the phone?
Feb 22, 20179 yr Someone in admissions call to setup a interview for the available dates and times where you come to the school and is interviewed by the nursing instructors or nursing program coordinators. I was interviewed by the ADN coordinators. They never do interviews over the phone.
Feb 22, 20179 yr Author Do you mind telling me how the interview was? Like what type of questions did they ask?
Feb 22, 20179 yr It lasts for about 10-15 minutes. I'm not sure if they ask the same questions for everyone they interview because my classmate were asked different questions then I was asked so I dont want to misinform you. Honestly, if your heart is in this to become a nurse, you will sell yourself and do well at convincing them to give you a chance. There is no way to reheorifice this interview. They want to see passion and of course, be yourself.
Feb 22, 20179 yr If that seems blunt, I apologize. I just know that I was told the program expects you to perform and it is challenging. You must make a B or higher in all of your nursing classes or you're dismissed from the program. Which is why they look for strong GPA's during the application process. I'm nervous myself, however I'm confident I can maintain a B when I start.
Is anyone applying or has already been accepted to OC Tech?
