D and C aka dilatation and curettage, VBAC and cerclage insertion just to name a few.

amniocentesis

Is this for a nursing school clinical? If so, focus on what is NORMAL, then the abnormal will stand out.

its part of a working internship. i just want to know procedures so when they are done on site, i know what it's for and the general plan of action.:)

I think the best approach is to ask to be in on anything special going on in the unit....anything unsual. Why? Because, essentially, labor/delivery are HEALTHY and NORMAL processes, not sicknesses, so interventions are to be limited or avoided, not encouraged. In healthy situations, "procedures" are not done as a routine, except in the case of epidural anethesia. So, ask the nurses there to observe any and all situations you can, healthy or otherwise and esp. ask to be present for special procedures and events as possible. Also check your OB textbook for a list of routine and special procedures done in OB and ask to observe those, if at all possible. That is my best advice to you. Good luck!
