Kalayaan is right. It's not a must to attend the Oath-taking ceremony. You can take your oath at the Legal Department of PRC in order to comply with the initial registration. There are some who are even doing their oath at the Mayor's office, as the law permits. You can do that even after the scheduled mass oath-taking.

Does anyone know what i should do if im not in the country during the oath taking?Do i get my license.I hope to be in usa by aug.

Wow! this is amazing... I have the same problem... I'll be out of the country when the exam results will be released.... So i was wondering, just in case I pass would it be ok if I would not register right away.. but instead register when i comeback? Would the Prc allow that?

you don't even have to take your oath, period. people in the philippines are always trying to scare people into submission. you just go to the prc on the scheduled date prescribed to get your id card. if you're sentimental do the oath taking. but you have the option not to. i bet even the dean will tell you its mandatory.

You need to accomplish your oath - Panunumpa ng Propesyonal. It's impossible that you be registered without it. Don't take it literally. Taking the oath is not merely verbally confessing it in a ceremony. It can be done in form. That is a requirement for initial registration. You will have to submit that to PRC in order to be given a Claim Slip for your license card. Whether you do it in the mass oath taking ceremony, at the PRC Legal Department, or wherever is a different story. I, myself, did not attend the ceremony but I had to accomplish the Oath form.

please pay attention to the thread, which is about the oath taking ceremony. signing would mean affirming of the tenets in the oath, as oath taking itself is more ceremonial. you said so yourself that you accomplished the oath form. even notary publics require an oath but it is rarely practiced there.

this is an argument for lawyers and philosophers of language. let this be the end of it.

i dont think you need to register asap. better even if you don't go with the hordes of people who want to register asap. call the prc to make sure.

you don't even need, or cannot use your philippine nursing license when you get to usa. you need to have a usrn license. just to let you know i didn't even bother to attend my graduation, i left the philippines 2 weeks after my final exam. just focus on getting your usrn license for now ( nclex-rn ). goodluck, you have a great journey ahead of you.
