nursing student needs help!!

I am a third year nursing student in Cincinnati and I am trying to find a job this summer in Sacramento. I think my best option would be a patient care technician/assistant. I am just unsure how to go about this and where to look. Is anyone aware of nursing student jobs or opportunities other than PCA's in the area? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you very much!

Get in to your hospitals. Get on their websites and apply to open PCT/PCA positions. Ask your fellow nursing students, if they are working, if their are open positions on their floors. After applying to open positions go to those units and meet those nurse managers. Take your resume with you and make sure you dress like you're going on an interview. You don't want to get lost in a sea of applications. You may also want to make sure that they allow that in the hospitals that you are applying to. I know that roper-st.francis in my city does not allow that.

If you have a VA there they should have student nurse tech positions. It was aide type work but I also got to do plenty of skills if I had done them in school. Was able to take the EKG class also. Good experience and it paid better than other hospitals.

Many students in my class work at one of three local hospitals. Their general way of "getting in" was to call the HR department and express interest in working (as a nursing student). Everyone seems to love it.
