nursing in other states

hello all! i am currently a nursing student, and i am going to graduate soon and take my nclex. however, i live in ohio and i am looking to live in florida. does anyone know if i could take my nclex in ohio and my license would be valid in florida? or if i am eligible to take my nclex in florida? if you don't know can you tell me where i can find out? thank you very much.

You can TAKE the NCLEX anywhere! What matters is what State board of nursing you apply to. I don't know whether OH and /or FL is a compact state....which would be very helpful to you as you could practice in either.

http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/ Best way to find out is ocntact the FL BON directly, depending on where in FL you want to go, you may be better served getting your OH license and working up there for a while as some areas (alot of the large hospitals that would be worth moving that far for) are on hiring freezes and even fewer new grad positions, with a year's experience you'd also qualify for better incentives such as relocation, sign on bonus and better pay, avg new grad pay in Orlando/Tampa/Ft Myers/West Palm/Lauderdale/Miami (I'm 2hrs give or take from all these so I've called around) is all about 20-23$ hr which sounds good until you look at cost of living.
