I am very serious about obtaining my RN liscence. I am beginging my CNA on Nov. 17, it is completed paid for. I want to go ahead and get started on my Pre-Reqs for RN. I am considering attending National American University in Missouri. I can start my pre-reqs next week. I need anyone who has any information good or bad regarding this school to give me some input. I know there are alot of schools out there, and all of them I have talked to act like they just want to get me in the door, "Oh we will answer that when you come in, etc." When I spoke with NAU they took their time answered all my questions, spent over an hour on the phone with me. But I am leary of getting burned. Anyone have any advice, it would be much appreciated!

Sorry, I don't know anything about the school.
Perhaps someone would spend time with you in person?
Prereqs should transfer if you decide to go elsewhere.
Good luck to you!
Thanks for your reply. I haven't been getting much input from anyone. I have an appointment with them Mon. at 10:30.. I hope it works out with out me oweing a bunch of money. It is a accelerated program, I do know that, 18 mos for your RN, sounds rough, but I'm not afraid of hard work. Again, thanks for the input.

Kathleen-
You would be best off doing a lot of the research yourself. At least I feel better about the answers and know that the responsibility is all on you to make the decision.
If the person on the phone is hesitant to answer your questions, there is probably a reason. If a school won't answer the questions, move on.
Questions to ask the schools.
1. Are you NLN accredited? It's important to know what that means for you if you choose a school that is not NLN accredited. Know the differences between NLN accreditation and state accreditation. GET IN WRITING
2. If you already have college credits, GET IN WRITING what classes will transfer, and how many classes (credits) you will have to take to earn your degree. This will vary by school!
3. What other commitments does this program have? How many hours of clinicals? Will you need to drive to a site 1 hour away? Will you be required to pass the HESI to graduate? GET IN WRITING
4. What tuition assistance is available? GET IN WRITING
Keep all your information organized!
