Nursing School Interview

Published

I have an interview coming up soon for an ADN program and am looking for any advice or coaching. Thanks!

Specializes in ICU/ER.

Ask well thought out questions---what is their Nclex pass rate? What if you struggle in a class do they offer assistance/tutoring? What are their teacher to clinical group ratios? How much clinical time do you get? Ask about exit testing ex:hesi or ati.

Schools love to brag about themselves--so give them that opportunity...

Also smile, make eye contact, dress nice. Have trimmed nails, minimal jewelry, light perfume if any. Listen to what they ask you and pause before you respond. Try and speak slower than you normally would because when your nervous people tend to speak faster.

Be yourself--show enthusiasm. Smile smile smile.

After the interview write them a thank you note and mention a fact you learned during the interview ex: I would be thrilled to attend a school that has such wonderful instructor to student ratios. or I would be honored to attend a school that has a 97% Nclex pass rate.

Best of luck!!
