nursing program

Hi, I have a question about nursing programs. There is this nursing program who recently graduated about half of its students and failed the other half. The returning students were able to continue in the following semester with their tuition paid. Now, the class is close to 90 students including the students who came back. There have been many complaints about the instructors in charge of the last semester and this time again the program has half of the students passing. When going over the percentages of "students ready" to take the exit Hesi, it was said only 13 to be ready. Have in mind that most of these students are "A" and "B" students while in the nursing program the past semesters. Any suggestions on who to talk to or what to do besides talking to the Dean or the nursing director?

    Especially considering the school is willing to pay tuition for everyone who failed. That's a huge red flag, and tells me that program is hurting.

    What are their NCLEX pass rates?

    If youre already in the program, which it sounds like, I'd seriously consider how far along you are and see if it's worth it to cut sling and go to a more reputable program. I'm going out on a limb and say that if the school has agreed to pay the tuition for half of their students, the director is well aware of the problem already.

    Is this a for-profit program? Is it accredited? Honestly, it doesn't sound that much different than a lot of other "in-it-for-the-money" nursing schools. Accept a large number of students (more student = more money), offer poor clinical experiences and lecture, let the majority get passing grades to keep them moving in the program (more semesters = more money) then set high passing standards the final year and fail a bunch of students in order to keep their NCLEX pass rate higher. If you can transfer your credits to another program, do so.
