Nursing Program: DO I HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER GETTING IN?

Published

I have applied to RCC, Mt.SAC, RIO HONDO, CHAFFEY, CITRUS nursing program 3 times already. They have all rejected me all 3x. I have been reading that the applicants who applied this year to some of these schools (2016) have already received letters (emails)of acceptance for some of these schools. I have not gotten a single reply from any of them. Am I rejected again? Can any of you guys help me? What can I possibly do right now to make myself more competitive? I am getting older every year and I am getting so desperate. I feel as though all hope is lost! T_T

Overall GPA: 3.63

Anatomy: A (the only repeated class)

Physiology: B

ENGL 1A/1C: A/A

TEAS: 80.7

HESI: 76

What can the problem possibly be?!?!

I cant retake the HESI cause Mt.SAC nursing program rule doesnt allow me to

RCC only takes the first TEAS score and I scored a 74 on my first one. :(

I am going to receive my AA in kinesiology this summer that will give me 8 more points towards my MT.SAC application in the future.. however..WILL THIS EVEN HELP ME????

*some advice would be amazing...

Depends on the school and pool. You wouldn't get in at the school (competitive community college) that I went to with that hesi, it would have to brought up significantly.

Welcome! Your thread has been moved to our Pre-Nursing student forum with the goal of attracting more replies. We wish you the best of luck and hope you can find a program that will grant you admission.

Specializes in mental health / psychiatic nursing.

Have you tried contacting the schools directly to find out where you need to improve? There is no sense in retaking classes or exams to up your point score if that isn't the issue.

You may also want to broaden your field of schools you are applying to if you keep getting rejected from these three. You may just be in a completely over-saturated area where it is nearly impossible to get in to a program.

You need to ask the schools what the GPAs, etc. are of the average accepted applicant. If they are out of your reach, look for other programs.
