I am currently taking prerequisits for nursing. The pay in pinellas park florida is anywhere from 19-25 per hour. I am not sure how much it is where you live. But you can go to yahoo.com and just type in "how much do nurse make in west Kentucky" see what comes up and just browse trough if you have time. Nursing is not easy so you should ask some nurses opinions and see if that is really what you want before you spend so much time and money on it. I hope I helped

I live in St. Louis and the starting pay around here is between 17-19 per hour. I know it varies from region to region because of the cost of living. Some of the student nursing magazines will run a spread on the various pay scales. You could search for those, or just for pay scales in your area.

try http://www.salary.com

here in MS/TN/AR tristate area it ranges from 19-22 base...shift diff is extra 2-5 dollars/hr for nights and weekends (they stack)

as a nurse tech you can make up to 16/hr base when you are one year into the nursing program

In Dutchess County NY, I started as a new RN at 32.67 an hour and it is about ready to go up now that my probation is almost over.

Nursing pay varies greatly but is usually enough to live well no matter where you are.

Thanks for the info ill try to stay posted on as to waht I'm going to do once again thanks :)

I encourage you to check the cost of living where you are considering nursing. I live in an area where "view of the bay is half the pay" and they mean it! You can't really afford to live here on a nursing wage. I live near Traverse City, Michigan. The wages range here from $18-$25 per hour but the average cost of a 3/2 family home here is $200 thousand. Hope that helps!
