nursing in the Pacific

Published

I came across this site and it set my thought processes going http://www.nurseonholidays.com/. However, when I have tried to search to jobs in the Pacific for nurses in general I have struggled. has anyone out there done this or know anything? Thanks x

Never heard of it but that sounds really amazing!

hi, i got a response back from my enquiry so i though i would share it with you guys:

"thank you for contacting us with the your plan to nurse in australia by utilising our free service to all nurses internationally.

most australian facilities insist on at least 1 year’s experience before they will consider you for a responsible job. you will also have to be registered in australia before any facility will even look at you, and this is currently taking from 6 to 9 months for approval. all registration is handled federally now not by each australian state. refer www.ahpra.gov.com.au for application form download. before registration is approved you will need to pass a compulsory “ eilts” test despite your english background so refer www.eilts.org for test sites etc. thirdly you will need to pass a medical and hold a valid visa. i suggest you use a “working holiday visa*” if aged between 18 and 30 years *.( *used to be 18 to 25 years but now changed) refer www.immi.gov.com.au for data on medicals, visa conditions etc which all must be followed exactly. these wh*visas which are only issued once, go stale after 6 months if unused so watch your timing.

once you are suitably qualified, registered, passed both the medical and eilts test and have the minimum experience suggested above, then we will be able to assist you in finding a suitable/matched position in australia. we are a specialist recruitment agency equipped to find nursing jobs , all free of charge to you, so study the requirements hard and complete the applications very accurately then email us again when you receive your registration approval and are ready to “move” and we will assist you each step of the journey.

do not pay anyone for immigration advice as this is free apart from the actual cost of the “wh visa*” itself, so if any queries arise, re-contact us for a prompt and factual reply"

The recruitment agency is called "ANCHOR", based in Australia
