Okay everyone, i need help. i am going to do a search for this too, but just need to ask and talk about it.
We have to do a paper on any disease you pick. it has to be written like a nursing journal article. So, backround is set.. now.. we were not shown any type of example, so its hard for me a bit to get started. i just need some help with picking my headings.. has to be 12 pages typed. no so bad, but i just need to get my headings...like i said..anyhow..oh yeah, we can have some medical stuff, but mostly towards nursing
i have: intro; diagnosing; nsg interventions (teaching- psychosocial; psyschological); meds; conclusion....anyone else got some ideas?
I am going to meet with my instructor tomorrow to make sure i am on the right track, but i want to get lots done today, so less i have to worry about later..ya know?
Thanks for the help in advance!!

I had a professional editor make a recommendation to me that I think is great. Find a good, well-written article and use that as a template. The article doesn't have to be on a topic related to yours at all -- it just needs to be of the same general "type" that you want to write. Simply follow the general organization and format of that article. Use their headings. You may also want to find 2 or 3 articles and get ideas from all of them.
That's how the pros do it ... and they do it that way for a reason.

Hello,
How about... defining the target population, demonstrating a need, prevention (primary, secondary, tertiary) and teaching (individual, family, community).
If it is more research driven then take a look at the headings I used.
Introduction
Research problem/question
Review of Literature
Framework (Conceptual or Theoretical)
Methods
Sample
Data Collection Procedures
Data Analysis and Findings
Conclusions and Implications
Good Luck!!
Thanks to both of you! i am going to run to my school library and get some mag's for sure. and i copied and pasted the other stuff.
its just i have a hard time getting started. i want to do so well on this paper, and i think that give me even more stress!!

llg is right. Look at some articles in any nursing journal to get an idea of how to organize your paper. Since you are writing about a disease this is more of an informational article. The Internet, and particularly hospital health online libraries, are loaded with these kinds of articles. Many articles in nursing journals are offered as continuing education articles and can be accessed online. Here is a listing of CE articles that appeared in RN magazine that you can look at for free on their website to give you an idea of how an article is structured:
Have fun!
