Nursing Gear- Essentials

What do you have to have with you on a daily basis?

For example:

I have a little canvas pocket that goes in my scrubs pockets at clinicals and practicum that came with our nursing kit for nursing school, we call them our "nerd packs", generally I keep:

a few pens

a penlight

hemostat

bandage scissors

index cards

a safety pin

and a roll of tape

and I usually keep a small fat notebook in my scrubs pocket as well as a ton of alcohol swabs and a few pairs of gloves for when I inevitably go into a room that only has small gloves in it.

What do you keep on you?

steth

kelly clamp

meconium aspirator

o2 christmas tree

electrodes

sat probe

tegaderm

these are in a small pack that I carry around. In my pocket I only carry a pen and gloves.

stethescope, penlight, tape, alcohol pads, several pens, and atleast two pairs of gloves on me at all times.

In my pockets - pen, pen light, small scissors, sharpie, a mess of alcohol swabs,

cell phone with PDA, and 10 cc saline flushes.

At my desk at the computer a "nursing box" containing hemostats, more sharpies,

more pens, large bandage scissors, gum, candy, old report sheets, or anything

that makes my pockets too heavy and pulls my pants down!

All of the above plus lip balm and a tiny tube of hand cream ( I used to be a manager at one of those 'bath' stores so these two items go with me everywhere).

Oh, I forgot to mention those! True Blue Spa's "Look Ma New Hands" in nurse

box. Cherry chapstick in pocket.

Look Ma New Hands is the best!

I also keep a small bottle of sanitizer on a clip attached to my nerd pack. Just in case.

Might one of you Nerd Packers be kind enough to link to a pack similar to the one you use? It would be greatly appreciated!
