Nursing Boards 1982

Way back when...in 1982 I took the boards. We were the first class from our school to take the comprehensive board. You had to travel to the site and it was a full day and then a partial day of testing. Passing was 1600. Does anybody know what the highest score you could get was? I may have known this at one time, but can't remember. Thanks.

i believe that 1600 WAS the perfect score.....in 1985 when i took it anyway....i only got in the 1300's somewhere....

Was there a standardized exam across the US at that point? Or did it vary by state?

If I'm not mistaken, I think at one time there wasn't a standard exam, it varied by State.

ok youngins, lol......i believe it was a standardized test....at some point in time....the different states could opt for different PASSING levels....i would think if you went back far enough, the states would have had their own testing.....but am not sure

Sorry, I took a trip to visit my sis, so just now able to check my post. Thank you everyone for posting, but now I'm more confused then ever, LOL :). I know that 1600 couldn't have been a perfect score (at least on the board I took), because I scored higher than that. I only know that prior to this board, people were allowed to just retake certain sections they scored poorly on. Then the year I took it, it changed to the comprehensive board, and if you failed, you re-took the whole thing like they do now. I realize, this was way back when in 1982, and why I'm thinking about this in my old age, I just don't know. Well, maybe someone will come along with the answer to the original post. Hope I live long enough! :) :) :)
