Sorry but this was the best I could do - our "uniforms" are variable and dependant on the hospital

My hospital has had a no uniform policy for the last eight plus years. While there are blue uniforms (pants and dental-tunic type tops, or traditional dresses) available free of charge, almost nobody wears them. There isn't a dress code as such - I wear navy pants, white t-shirt and navy or red vest; other professional staff wear anything from a suit (not so much clinical!) to jeans (weekens and nights, and not smiled upon). Mnay wards have shirts with a ward logo. Staff in ICU, ED and OR (of course) tend to wear scrubs, but at elast where I work no floor nurses do.
basically, like Gwenith said, it depends on where you work. That said, private hospitals and agency nurses invariable wear a uniform.
thank you for your replies. greatly appreciated!!! =)

Hi anectine02
I have worked in many Sydney Hospitals. The uniforms mainly consist of navey blue pants and shoes with different corporate style shirts depending on the hospital in the general ward area's. Many hospitals in the same area health area will use the same corporate shirt. The hopitals usually have a uniform room opened once a week somewhere, where you can order your uniform. Until your uniform arrives you can usually wear the navey blue pants with a white shirt. You can also usually pick up a second hand uniform advertised on staff notice board in the hospitals.
As stated previously outside the general wards, many of the units do either wear scrubs or navey pants with a unit logo shirt.
Nursing agencies all have their own uniforms as well, but they will usually supply a logo shirt before you commence work.

I would wait until you are at the hosptial you will be working in to find out their specific requirements. That way you will not be wasting money.
The hospital I work in Sydney supplies you with a uniform. You have a choice from different styles. It also depends on the area you are working. ie theatre, emergency, ICU or general wards.
