Just curious...how many nurses/nursing students obtained all their pre-req's for a BSN program while they were in (ADN) nursing school? Do most people just get it out of the way while they are already in school?
All I have left is Chem I&II which I am debating taking until I am out of nursing school next year. I could take it over the summer but it would be extremely fast paced...and if I don't I will have to delay my RN~BSN~MSN program a whole year...and I dont think i could do nursing & chem at the same time
any thoughts...
i don't think they have any for you...
i agree:rolleyes:

I finish my ASN program in May and I will have all my classes done for my BSN except the actual Nursing classes. I will go one day a week for 8 hours/day for 1 year and have my BSN. It'll be nice to not have to worry about other classes while finishing my BSN and working a new job!

I finished my ADN program, got my license, then worked full time and went to school part-time for BSN pre-req's and course work. The programs I am familiar with will not consider your application for BSN program until you are both licensed (if not a generic student) and have pre-req's out of the way.
aaahhhh...i was beginning to think that my post was lost out to sea. I went back and perfected my questioning a bit. Thanks so much for your responses.:chuckle
I am actually applying (well have been accepted to woohoo) and accelerated RN-BSN-MSN program...going the nurse educator route.
I have one more year left of my ADN program but I am lacking chemistry and experiencing school burnout. They have accepted me under the conditions that I finish my BSN pre-req's (chems) before I graduate and recieve my license before the end of my first semester in their program.
I have two choices...
take chem I and II back to back over the summer (5 days/week x 4wks EACH plus lab)...so no vacation or down time with hubby between nursing semesters.
or
I wait and take them after i graduate but i will have to reapply for admission and I am afraid that I may not get in a second time...very competitive and few slots
so what do you think I should do...advice?

I feel ya on the school burnout! I'll have my ADN in May and all of BSN pre-reqs except chem I and II. Talk about coincidence. ;-) I am considering giving up my summer to get them both out of the way. I, like you, don't want to wait another year to get into the program. But I'm on the fence. My love returns from his deployment in January. I would hate to be gone all summer for classes just to have him be mobilized again shortly thereafter... Decisions, decisions. Sorry, I didn't have much advice, just more of a I'm in a similar boat kind of comment. :) Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
this IS creepy.......my hubby comes home in this month!:rotfl:
