Are there any nurses out there who succesfully made a career change to
something other than the nursing field. I would like to leave nursing, don't
mind making a little less $$ for less stress. I'm just not sure how to use my
present work experience and nursing education to make this change.
I don't think my nursing education and work experience is easily transferable
to other careers. Even if I do, most employers will not consider this. Anyone
try icd 9 coding careers, medical transcription.... Please share. Thanks.

How about Medical Aesthetics? It is outpatient and in demand in many
areas. Hope you find a new career that you enjoy!
Good luck~:anpom: cheering you on !

You can easily find an office job or medical billing. A lot of those jobs only require a HS diploma and alot can be learned on the job unlike nursing where you are dealing with someone's life and need special training. Good luck. Im sure you will easily find something different.
