First, I want to be a RN and I plan to take courses at Nova. Is it so hard to work and go to college? I want to be a pediatric nurse because of my background. Actually, I just started to search about it. I don't have that much idea. So any of avdice are appreciated.

I am about to begin a nursing program in January so unfortunately I cannot give much insight on working and going to nursing school. Many people on this forum have posted about working and going to nursing school saying that it is very much possible. I saw a post recently where someone said they were even working around 35 hours per week and still managed to do well in nursing school. If you don't get many responses I would search on this forum for nursing and working and you will find some responses. Good luck to you!

I have always worked and went to school. I really had no other choice. And to be honest, it's really not all that bad. I just manage my time wisely, when I was taking my pre-reqs I was able to work more then than I do now that I'm in the nursing program.
You can do it!

Nursing is a difficult degree to obtain, it requires lots of hard work and dedication. When I started my nursing program I, contrary to everyone's advice thought I would be able to continue working through nursing school. And well, I had no other choice. About 4 months into my program I was completely burnt out, I averaged about 3 hours of sleep a night. I would go to school, work, and be home around 10 pm every night. I had no time to cook, clean, or read the required assignments. I decided to quit my job and focus completely on school. I was able to due to a great support system I had in place. I believe a good support system is very important when your going through a difficult program. I am graduating in December with honors and am very excited.
If you really want it, you can do it. I just kept telling myself that it wasn't going to last forever and that I would soon be a nurse!
