Nurse Practitioners!!!

I am currently a junior in the BSN program at the Medical College of Georgia. I really enjoy nursing, but I think that I want to further my career after I am an RN. I am seriously considering the nurse practitioner program! I really would just like some information about the program....do you have to practice in a specific area before starting the program? how long is the program? is it better to go right after completing a BSN or to wait a few years? Any information will help me! Thanks so much!

hello and welcomecoloredthatturns.gif to allnurses.com

great to have you with us. are you interested in the fnp track? and, i can move your thread to the np forum if you are unsure of your interest. you might receive a better response since you are interested in np.

while you are at it, check out this thread in the np forum about the following issue: "to have experience before the np program or not"....
