Is there a real demand for NP's? What about ENP's? I'm looking to go grad school in a year or two and I wanted to know which way to direct my nursing career. How does one even become an ENP? I know the programs must be limited.

The market for NPs right now (in most locales) is excellent. To be a NP (of any type) you need to go to a accredited graduate NP program with clinical component and subsequently pass the nation certification exam. The ENP designation is fairly new. You can visit http://www.nursecredentialing.org/EmergencyNP-Eligibility (ANCC) for info.
I figured it was fairly new since there aren't many programs out here in California for it. I was just confused if they went the FNP route and then branch off... Hopefully by the time I am seriously applying to grad schools there will be more supply of legitimate NP programs in my area. Thank you. I wasn't even sure that NP's could treat in more acute care specialties.

Hi PedsNP2b!
If I may ask what part of the country are you in? I've recently just graduated from my PNP program and having completed my degree via distance learning many of my classmates are saying that the market is sadly not the best for them. I am in the S.E. now although I am looking both locally and at some other states for employment opportunities.
