Nurse Practitioner Programs

I want to start a NP program but I just wanted some input from others that have completed a NP program.

There are programs close to me but are only full time. I would like to do part time and still be able to work. Has anyone worked while doing the NP program? Where did you go? How expensive was it?

Oh, sorry. I forgot to mention I wanted to do an online distant learning program.

With that being said, I live in Virginia Beach, VA.

I am nearly done with my NP program. I go part time to a bricks and mortar university and honestly early on in the program most of the didactic portion of the program was online, except for some of the weightier classes like pharmacology. Now I'm in the final year none of the classes are online but they wouldn't be able to anyway as they are part of the clinical portion. Part time means 6 credits per semester and with the clinicals as well it feels like a full time course load. I work full time Monday to Friday and it's been a bit challenging trying to juggle it all so I took a semester off to recharge and rest. However, it has been mostly do-able for the past 3 years. My school turned out way cheaper than many online places and has a stellar reputation and arranges all my clinicals for me. It is also affiliated with the best medical school in the state, so it's been a very good experience. I would not have done this fully online.
