Nurse Mentor Needed

I do have suggestions for you that do not include keeping this request on a message board such as this one. Meaning, this is a public website that allows absolutely anyone to register and claim to be whatever they wish: non-nurses can and do claim to be actual nurses from time to time, and while we do our best to 'out' them, the reality is many people here cannot prove any credentials of any kind.

That said, I would be willing to bet that the mentor your teacher has in mind is one you can verify credentials for, and locally. Call area hospitals, and ask to speak to their nurse recruiter (or HR). Those people will know who to put you in touch with, REAL nurses who can help you along your journey :)

You can contact medical practices, outpatient clinics, anyplace where nurses work. Most would be very happy to help you, I have no doubt! It's only THIS setting, an anonymous message board, that causes me concern for you. You should not be exchanging personal information on a site such as this, which includes email and phone information....and to be frank, I would like to see you change your User ID. Your real name, on a public forum, invites trouble.

Once you've done all that, feel free to take a look at the pre-nursing student forum and see what there is there that can also help! :)
