NPDB

Is there any advice on how to have a productive nursing career after being reported to the NPDB? What kind of nursing jobs are available after being reported to the NPDB? When interviewing for a nursing position, is it wise to mention being reported to the NPDB or should it be kept private? I have interviewed for two nursing positions for which I have lots of experience in but I was not given either position? Could this be due to the NPDB report? I am really wanting to know if my career is ruined, if I will always be the last choice if chosen, or if should just go to school for something other than nursing.

I am also wondering if I should be choosing other nursing positions. If that is the case, what kind of nursing positions are more forgiving in my situation?

Being listed in the NPDB isn't the end of the world. Much depends on "why" you are listed.

The NPDB will often come up on background checks, so they probably know about it even if you weren't the one who disclosed it. Best advice, be honest. If you are meant to have the job, your honesty will be respected. If you aren't, hiding it won't help.

This has just been my experience.
