NP Program UBC/UVIC

Thank you Fish2021 for the update! It sounds like they are still reviewing applications for this year, hopefully we hear back soon.

By the way, has anyone applied to the U of Toronto NP Program? If so, have you heard back from them?

While the process has been longer than I expected, I’m pretty glad no one has been contacted yet. Best of luck guys, about 400-500 applications they have to sift through. 

Just curious where you heard the figure of 400-500 applicants? I know the number of applicants is increasing yearly but in 2019 UBC had 100 applicants according to their website.  4-500 would be quite the jump!

A colleague of mine that recently completed the program at UVIC said that her intake in 2018??? had about 400-500 applications? I got her to verify because I wasn't sure if I had heard right. 

I assumed UBC would be just as flooded. However, I'm happy with only 100 bodies as competition.

Hi guys! I still haven’t heard anything from Uvic positive or negative. Has anyone heard anything? Are they interviewing?

Myself and a colleague were shortlisted a few weeks ago and I just finished my interview last Wednesday. The interviewer said she had one more day left and then they were going to decide who they were offering a seat to and who they were waitlisting by the end of next week. 

If anyone else is waiting on UBC, I heard a very few number of people were offered interviews, and their GPA cutoff was around 86% and they’re average was 90%. Approximately 300 applicants this year. 
 

However, until you’ve heard directly from the source, I’d remain diligent. Personally, I’d even reach out if you haven’t heard back yet. Good luck!  ?

Do you happen to know how UBC does their GPA calculation for the NP Program? Is it just 3rd and 4th year nursing courses? 300 applicants is sure a lot more than last year wow!

I believe for UBC , they only use 3rd and 4th year courses to calculate GPA. I just had my interview with UBC this morning, and was told they are still interviewing applicants this week and next week. They will be releasing final results 3rd week of March. Hope this helps.
