NP Program UBC/UVIC

I'm not sure if a forum has already been started for applicants for the September 2021 intake but I'm here to kick it off. Is anyone else biting their nails hoping for an interview with UBC or UVIC?

Yah, that’s right, 3/4th year and if you have any post graduate speciality.

Keep the questions going! Best of luck to all applicants!

I asked the department GPA is 3 and 4 thanks any post certificates / grad work. Only nursing degrees/ classes. My GPA is 87 and I got an interview last year but not this year

COngrats to those who got an interview! Unfortunately I did not get an interview for ubc. My GPA is 86 and first time applying. Really bummed out about it. ?

It seems like it’s getting more competitive every year. Tbh I’d think about applying for other distance ED programs if you really want your NP. You would think straight As would be enough

My friend applied for her second time as well and didn't get an interview. Her GPA was around 88 with 5 years of experience in CCU. Youre right it is getting harder

Does anyone have ant idea how UBC factors in statement of interest, references and CV?

I know that your references will rate you in addition to their letter, I think you need an “excellent” from all three, meet the GPA retirement and also knock the letter of intent out of the park.

Straight A’s are not enough...

Keep an eye out for Athabasca opening up their program to BC candidates and for a new TRU program coming down the pipeline.

Additionally, from what I heard, COVID has inspired programs to increase seating for next year - bringing promise to unsuccessful candidates.

Anyone get offered a seat yet???

Nope, nothing yet. ?

Nope still waiting...

Anyone heard back from ubc yet? I’m literally refreshing my email every 10 minutes, this is so nerve wracking.........
