Hello All,
I recently took and passed my NCLEX and am ready to hit the ground running, or as a new nurse, take my first steps.
Anyway, I've faxed my resume to about four hospitals in the city (earlier this week) and e-mailed one. I heard back from one nursing recruiter stating that she was sending my resume to facilities within her organization.
Now, my question is, how long is the average wait before one hears back from the nursing recruiter in response to your submission? Although it has been 2-3 days, I am not sure what to expect and how long it takes. I am a little anxious and a tad bit impatient to get started and was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
Thanks!

I was anxious too when I sent in my resumes, I was actually expecting them to call back the same day or even the next day. One nurse recruiter actually called me back about 2 weeks after I had sent my resume in, I thought they either didn't get it, or weren't considering me. They will call u back, might not be this week but soon!
Have u considered Jamaica Hospital in Queens I think they're hiring New Grads as well!

you have to call them and probably more than once. HR dept are very slow, and don't call back in a timely manner.

Follow through, or your resume will get buried in someone's desk. Don't feel bad or out of place by calling. You have to be persistent. Good luck!

Just wait...I never called them up....
Big hospitals would take longer to call you... normally two months before their next orientation....
Some called me right away....
My estimate is within one month...75% of the jobs you applied will eventually called you...
Right now...the timing is "bad"...inasmuch as some hospitals have been recommended to be closed....so some of the nurses working for these hospitals are also looking for work...they have more experience than you...
But I am 100% sure that you will get something....at least one offer from the list of jobs you applied....
Be patient...
If I were you....take a vacation before the orientation....
