Now What

Today I found out by quick result that I passed boards my question is now what should I do. Do I get malpractice insurance and then look for a job or what? Do I join any organizations as soon as my license comes or what? Any advice would help me alot.

Thanks.

What I did was to start the job search and start interviewing! If I had an interview, I would tell them the approximate time my card license would arrive, and point them to the BON website (or they can call), and have them do a varification by name! They are use to this for new grads!

I would wait on the insurance till you get your actual license in your hands so you can fill out the forms with the number! I have worked 7 years without it (but will get it sometime) and never had a probelm yet...so it is not as much of a priority to me as finding a job first..then getting it! (don't need the insurance if you aren't practicing nursing huh?).

CONGRATULATION on passing NURSE! :)

I believe that it is good to have liability insurance whether or not you are

working. You could still be sued by someone.

I do agree that you should wait until you get your license to buy it.

I've never carried malpractice insurance, and have been in nursing for a zillion years LOL. But as I start my final year towards my RN, I was told it was mandatory, so now I have insurance. It was not expensive..and IS a good idea.
