I am planning on applying to Nova BSN program and MDC RN program soon as I get my last 2 prerequisite finish. I was wondering how long is the BSN program at NOVA? Exactly 2 years? more than 2 years? or Less than 2 years?
... The reason I am asking this questions is because I am 19 years and I have finished my A.A. in Health Service Administration within less than a year and Half at BCC. However, I decided not to go that track. I did pretty good with a 3.4 GPA for the Health Admin degree, and NOVA prerequisite GPA I have for the classes they want is a 3.7

GTGyal,
I am not sure how long the program at NOVA is. I am actually trying to research this and find out myself right now, but I am coming up with no success. I read somewhere that it is 31 months. That is a loooong time. But it is surely worth it.
I am also looking to apply to nursing school at NOVA and I have already applied for MDC nursing school for the Spring semester. So I am waiting to hear from them. If I had a choice between MDC and NOVA, I would choose MDC for only one reason.....the cost of the tuition. I really want to apply for NOVA nursing school, but I am so doubtful about the cost of it. It is extremely expensive. If money was no object, then there would be no question about is....NOVA all the way. I have read so many wonderful things about NOVA and their passing score on the NCLEX is exceptional.
I have heard so many horror stories about the requirements for MDC nursing school.....the main concern....GPAs. I have heard if you don't have over a 3.5, then you will not be accepted. Then I came across this website and read so many people's stories about how they know someone who did not have a perfect GPA and was accepted. (I think they had around 3.2 and 3.4.) This is giving me more confidence than when I started this whole things due to the fact that my GPA is a 3.3. I feel like I am going to be rejected and so I am looking into other nursing schools. Sad! I know, but whatever it takes to make your dream come true.

According to NOVA's website, the program is 27 months.

I also read on their website that the tuition is almost $18,000 plus fees. You have a good gpa. Have you considered FIU and FAU?
Good luck with your applications.

it was changed to 31 months at nova. it used to be 27 months when I started there, and 2 classes after my class graduated it was changed to 31months at NOVA--
and definitely look into other schools besides MDC!! if you get into MDC then great, if not at least you have already applied to other schools.

KAD24,
Thanks for the information, I think it is 31months, it is a little long. However, very good school for nursing. I really want to get into MDC because it is cheaper and quicker. However, it is so hard, but I will still try my luck. I am going to apply to Barry and Nova as well, because I meet their deadlines.
Hey guys! I called NOVA and asked them how long their program was and they said it was 27 months....not 31 months. Which is correct? 27 or 31?

I am in the bsn program now it is 27 months.
Nova bsn program is 31months. I am applying to MDC for their fall semester, barry, and Nova as well. I meet their deadlines because I still have A&P II to take. I would go to MDC because of the cost compare to Nova and Barry. I am going to Barry on Thursday to find out more info on their BSN program. I read you can finish the BSN program in little as 15 months. That is if you have all the general education requirement. Nova, will be my last choice if I go not get accepted into the MDC or Barry. I currently have my A.A. in Health Administration I just obtain over the summer for BCC. I have a overall GPA of 3.5 for the health Administration degree. However, for the requirement for MDC I have a 3.9, I still don't know if I have a chance of getting in because I heard it is extremenly competitive. The only bad thing for MDC I would have to drive almost 2hr to get their because I live in Coral Springs. I can't apply to BCC because I will not meet their deadline for fall.
you know what? you gotta do what you gotta do to get to where you want to be.
I used to drive an hour from south miami to pembroke pines to get to school (BCC)--- but it is so worth it. Now I am in my RN-BSN program online, with almost a year of RN experience under my belt and no loans to pay.
So apply everywhere you can, and you will get in somewhere.
BumblebeeRN,
I know exactly what you mean. Even if I have to drive 2hrs it will be well worth it rather than paying a lot of money to barry or nova
