Notebook or Flash Cards?

So I bought my Fundamentals of Nursing book today and was told to start reading specific chapters. I pulled of my brand new notebook and started taking notes...then realized about 2 pages in alot of my notes were definitions and I am a better flash card person then notebook person, but in a notebook I feel that you have all the notes in one place instead of (millions) of flashcards everywhere. What do you NS professionals think? I have been told that there is never enough time to do all of the reading and studying and flash card making and that I may run out of time writting things twice and not get enough studing done. Should I skip the notebook and make flash cards? (I think I may be answering my own questions here). Examples of what I am studing: 6 links in the chain of infectio - systicemia - exogenous nosocmial infections etc. This may sound like basic knowlege to you but to me it sounds like french. Flashcards? Then to make sure I don't loose them put them in zipplock bags and lable by chapter?? Sorry I am rambling..any advice??

When I took Fundamentals Nursing 2 years ago, there were so many chapters to read. There was no way I was going to make flashcards. One week, I had to read about 12 long chapters. When I started Med Surg 1, the readings were much less; so I was able to make a few flashcards. It is also depends on the amount of time you have. I was working 40 hours a week. If you have the time, do what works best for you.

I Loved The Idea Of Putting Flash Cards On A Binder Ring. I Will Be Starting Class In 2 Weeks. Im Soooo Excited.
