I've been nursing on a busy med-surg floor for about a year and I'm not sure nursing is for me. I bring the work home and become very anxious before work, and feel inadequate during work- almost bewildered at the massive multitasking I need to do. I never feel rewarded or appreciated.
I've applied to other RN jobs, but I'm just not sure nursing is the right career for me; I'm just not social enough! I was thinking of going to school for something like Med tech/nologist... I just don't know how to afford it without continuing to work as a nurse. Could anyone help me with some career advice, point me in a direction? I'm applying to outpatient RN jobs with no bites yet. I'm not sure if another setting would help.
I'd really appreciate any kind words.

u should try a less hectic field maybe become a school nurse if you enjoy children? or try working in a small private clinic where you dont have to interact with as many people as a major hospital

if you have a bachelor's degree you can try school/camp nursing, cardiac/pulmonary rehab, public health, special procedure suite, or a number of other things (for those of you contemplating what kind of nursing school is best, food for thought).
if you don't, look for other kinds of jobs. suggest you look at the lists of nursing specialty certifications online (checks several lists) to get an idea of what's out there, and then see what you would have to do to get there-- something will pique your interest.
if not...go to art school, hamburger university, flo's school of nail design, business school, join the navy nurse corps and see the world... be a big person and get out there...
I do have a bachelor's degree. I feel like everything is waay easier said than done. I've applied to at least 15 outpatient jobs and no luck :0(
