Dec 2, 201411 yr I took the exam today. I failed. I was confident with my answers and disappointed with the result.
Dec 2, 201411 yr So I called the NMC to find out if I could receive a score or if they were considering changing the exam... the person I spoke to knew nothing and said that no one would know anything.... helpful hey! I asked if the questions came from a pool or whether they were the same and he said he believed they came form a pool of questions but was unsure whether the essential questions remain unchanged.its such a joke! I called again last week and they ensured me they would get back to my feedback email as well as answer my questions, but still haven't, so angry it's the fourth time I've requested info now. I would be calling them like every hour until I have my answers but I'm on holiday overseas
Dec 3, 201411 yr Ahhh I'm taking my test next week, and I'm so nervous. Especially since reading this forum and seeing no one has passed. My recruiter in the UK told me that none of the nurses she knew had passed initially, but two were re-assessed and then passed by the NMC. I'm from the USA, I've taken the NCLEX and have used one of those question books to refresh content, and looked at the Code and some of the articles in the blueprint (which I find far too overwhelming!). Should I focus my last week of studyingon reading articles or refreshing good old nursing content? What do you guys suggest?
Dec 3, 201411 yr Most of the essential questions are based on the NMC publications such as the guidance for medication management, obtaining consent, use of confidential information and obviously the code, I would trawl the NMC site and read everything they have! Good Luck :)Now I'm trying to figure out whether I should sit it again next week or whether I'll just get the same questions that have no answer!
Dec 3, 201411 yr I agree, one or two people - failing, okay. But the majority of people failing, that's not a test taker problem ... That's a test problem.
Dec 3, 201411 yr Hopefully they'll see that so many people are failing and adjust accordingly. It's normal to have a "growth curve" on their part since this is the first time they've ever done something like this, but must be extraordinarily frustrating for you guys : ( seriously, good luck on the next attempt!!! I'm so glad I went through the process a couple years ago
Dec 4, 201411 yr I just tried to book my re-test (which is probe 130 pounds down the toilet) and yesterday on the Pearson Vue site I could see the available time slots and i was authorised to sit it again and today when I went to pay again suddenly I'm not authorised to re-sit... called Pearson Vue who were about as helpful as the NMC are. No idea what is going on but not happy.
Dec 5, 201411 yr Hey the exact same thing happened to me too? I received an email too a week or so back from Pearson saying I was authorised to resit from mid Jan even though my earliest resit date is actually this Monday?!? Then when I log in to the system the exam isn't there to be selected?!? What. Is. Going. On.
Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
