Now that the time frame between MDSes is based on the ARD, here is a question I have. I have a resident who's 92nd day was 1/5/13. She is not interviewable. I was going to start the MDS today but she expired last night. Do I still need to complete the MDS? Or can I go with the fact that I actually have 14 days to complete it and she expired before it was due to be completed?

You can also check with you RAI state coordinator too.
The 90 day assessment would cover Billing days 91-100. Since she didn't die until day 94, you have to do assessment to cover days 91-93 for Billing if you want to get paid.

And you only have 2 days after death/discharge in which to set the discharge/scheduled assessment ARD for the date of death/discharge (SNF PPS Clarifications Memo, March 2012).
