I am looking in to neonatology, but am not sure what the type of field I am wanting. I want to work in the healthy baby nursery. Is there a specific type of nursing or would I have to work there and in NICU to be a neonatology nurse all the links and article I look up for Neonatology Nursing only talk about the NICU not the Well-baby nursery. Can someone help me?!:uhoh21:

I wish I could help...but I won't do babies or small children at all! I know my limitations and when I cry seeing a child on TV with cancer..I bawl my eyes out every single darned time...let alone a story about something going wrong during birth...OH no, I can't do it...I would be worthless as a nurse in this particular arena. Nice thing is that I realize it and accept it, and not try to force it!

It is now common to have post-partum couplet care, no newborn nursery for the babies. Our little ones stay with mom, unless there is a problem.
