Welcome

Moved to the International forum.

I take it you applied to Ca for initial licensure. I suggest a search on California as we have many threads discussing this the best one to read is California for initial licensure.

Would also suggest you check out threads on retrogression as you will be affected and looking at several years before moving as things currently stand with visas due to the high demand from your country. With retrogression we are seeing less and less hospitals going the direct hire route but the best things to do is contact hospitals in the areas you want to live and discuss with them petitioning. Going agency will not get you there any quicker and will not guarantee you going to where you want to live. They usually have very high cancellation fees. Again would suggest a search on agencies as much has been written

Welcome to allnurses! :balloons:

If you applied to CA and took the NCLEX somewhere else, you are not actually "licensed in CA" -- CA will not issue a license until you are physically in the US and have a Social Security number (indicating you are legally permitted to work in the US). You have a pending application for a license and, yes, that will expire after 3 years and your NCLEX results will disappear when it does, unless you've applied to another state and asked CA to send your NCLEX results to that state.

Also, licensure and immigration are two entirely separate issues. Please read some of the info available here about the current retrogression -- even with a license to practice in a US state, you are looking at a wait of several years, at present, to have a chance of getting a visa to work in the US.

There is lots of information about immigration and licensure in the US already posted on this forum -- please have a look at some of the existing threads. Here are links to a few threads of particular interest, to get you started:
