Hello everyone,

I am actually just now enrolling to some LPN schools here in the OKC metro. Anyone have any advice as to which schools are good/bad, etc...? Plus any advice or tips that will help me get accepted. Most schools I'm applying for are only accepting around 20 or less students. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you!!!!

Hello and welcome to allnurses.

I don't know much about the schools in OKC except that you should try to stay away from Platt, even though they're the easiest to get in. Getting your CNA certification might help, the program I'm starting next month requires it as a prereq. Also CPR. I'm also a little ahead in the program because I already have medical terminology and Anatomy & Physiology. Goodluck and welcome to the Oklahoma board!

I have no experience with LPN schools, but wanted to welcome you!

Which school are you going to? Right now I'm looking at Francis Tuttle? Heard anything about them? Um...I will have med term and CPR done by the time I enroll so hopefully that will help. Also I haven't taken the COMPASS test yet. Anyone know much about this test?

Thank you!

I used to hear good things about Francis Tuttle when I lived in OKC. Have you ever taken the ACT? If so, you can use that score if you want and not have to take the COMPASS (according to what I've been told.) Apply as soon as you can! All these programs fill fast.

I have heard Francis Tuttle is good as well as Metro Techs programs.
