New Student

You can just by an Iphone 4 for $99 at this point. You don't need to upgrade if your satisfied with your phone.

What school is requiring you to get a smart phone?

I start school in the fall and at the introduction meeting we were told we need a smart phone preferably an I phone.My question is basically is the i phone my best choice ,will i need to upgrade for $400 every two years.

I would think an iPod touch would suffice. I think the point is to be able to use nursing apps - I don't think anyone needs you to be able to call on it or pay for data packages.

my school did the same thing, majority of the students did have smart phones already, in my experience they try to get you to buy an app called Skyscape, which is actually a handy resource, it's basically a large collection of medical resources in the palm of your hand. I'd personally go with an iTouch to avoid monthly bills, and maybe try to hold off until the first few days of school? see how much it's really used and if you feel you actually need it, then move ahead and purchase. *i only use mine for drug reference now*
