What benefits are you trying to get? ???

Well, not really benefits, just things I can do to make it not too hard to find a job :)

I know it's hard as my situation. That's why I would like to get some suggestions. Will it be easier if I just start with volunteering or some fellowship programs? Thanks.

Also, any suggestions about how to prepare for working in States? Like things need to read first or most common abbreviations, working routines.... thanks.

What do you mean by "get my benefits"? And what state are you licensed in? (Tennessee? I notice you posted this in the TN forum.)

Do you have legal authorization to work?

If you're licensed and legally allowed to work, you can start applying for jobs. However, I'll warn you now, if you have no US nursing experience and it's been a few years since you've worked at all, you're likely to have a hard time finding a job. The economic crash has hit nurses as well as everyone else.

Yes I do.

You might want to consider a nurse refresher program. Those are designed to help people who have been out of nursing for a while get back "up to speed" for clinical practice. Since you have no US experience, that would give you some exposure to nursing practice in the US. Also, it would show employers that you are serious about employment and are making an effort to keep your skills and knowledge current. The BONs usually maintain a list of refresher courses available in the state, since they sometimes require nurses to take them. You could check with the BON about available courses in TN.
