New RN... Stressed

I had a bad week... I was so stress from having 5 patients one day and broke down and cried at the nurse's station. THat was embarrassing. Usually I am able to handle stressful days with no problems, but that day was horrible. I wanted to show other people on the floor that I was able to handle it. Changes in patient's condition, small needy things patients wanted, techs not helping me out just overwhelmed me, and my charting was behind. Thank god I had help from the awesome nurses. The next day after my emotional breakdown, everyone was checking up on me and asking me if I needed help. That was nice. That day was also horrible. I had to send one of my patients to ICU. Thank god I made it this week. :sniff:

((((Hugs)))...it does get better...sounds like you had some great nurses helping you out! You're never alone on the floor...don't be afraid to ask.

:icon_hug: I know how you feel. I just posted on another board about something similar to this. Like suzy253 said, you have great nurses helping you out. I can't say the same for me and my situation.
