I have been recently hired at the Cancer Center Infusion clinic. My background is trauma PCU and NICU - along with cancer research (pre-nursing). Aside from the ONS Chemo/Biotherapy Cert course and hospital policies, what do you recommend for a new infusion RN to brush up on?

Hello,
I have been a nurse for 7 years and my background is 4 years of telemetry/transplant nursing and 3 years of Neuro/Medical ICU. Do you have any recommendations for how I could break into Infusion nursing?

I'd start by joining your local chapter of Infusion Nurses Society (INS). Getting involved with IV therapy and having fellow nurses to network and assist you in your journey is important. Go to their website and find your local chapter. www.ins1.org
