Hey, all. From the high desert in CA. Going to comm college here. I am 39 and find myself very frustrated at the idea of being a 40 something nursing student. I really want this, though, so here I am. Anyway, I have to take physio this fall semester, providing I can get registered in the class before it fills up!, then I'll be able to apply for the nursing program here in Victorville. My frustration now is that this school is so small and with such in demand courses, it's difficult to get into classes. I'll find out Wed. if I get a spot.

Don't be too frustrated! I love being a "mature" student. Wayyy better than my early twenties!
I am hoping to begin my nursing program in the spring at 39. The way I look at it, I have more productive years left than I have had so far! (Hopefully!)

Don't be frustrated with being an older nursing student. Those of us with some years life experience bring an abundance of variety to the field of nursing. Twenty five percent of my nursing cohort is over 30 with the oldest of us being 56. No one is ever too old for more education if that is what one truly desires. Good luck on getting your physio class. And don't give up if you don't get it the first day. Go to the class anyway. People will drop or the professor will make an exception if you explain your situation. That is what I did for both my anatomy and microbiology classes. Good luck.
